If you’ve read my earlier posts it should be clear that I wish to travel in a little more comfort these days. Specifically, in business class where possible.
With this in mind, from time to time I will share some cheap flight deals that may appeal to anyone who wishes to travel to or from Australia. I have not shared this deal elsewhere as yet, but I will in the next few days.
Philippine Airlines KUL to MEL/SYD
For anyone currently in South East Asia wanting to head to Melbourne or Sydney, Philippine Airlines currently has return business class flights for around $1350 AUD. This is an extraordinary price.
The flight pictured involves a 5 hour layover in Manila but you if your dates are flexible it’s possible to cut the layover to around half that time.
If you book this flight, be sure to select a flight that has “Lay flat seats” for the 8.5 hour leg from Manila to Australian. Not all Philippine Airlines planes have these seats.
Playing around with dates and using an OTA (online travel agent) such as Gotogate (I do not recommend them) I managed to get the price down to $1228 AUD for this return business class trip.
I have personally flown this airline, in business class, on this route, The only downside is the annoying, extra security screening at Manila airport. Oh and the Mahaba Lounge in Manila Airport is not great.
At the time of writing, this deal is broadly the same price as most economy class flights from KL to Australia. Hopefully some of you can make use of this flight bargain.
