As I was flying a Oneworld carrier, Malaysian, my first choice, JAL’s Sakura lounge was closed at the time of my visit as was the Cathay Pacific lounge. That left Malaysian’s preferred option, the Miracle Lounge.
Miracle lounges are the catchall lounges used by many airlines who only have a couple of flights a day to BKK, they are also used by Priority Pass members
Despite flying on a Malaysian Economy Class ticket, I was able to enter the lounge due to holding Oneworld Sapphire (I’ll write more about how to achieve this on the cheap in a later post).
At the time of entry, the two people at the service counter at the entrance were having a great chat and failed to check the credentials of myself and at least 2 others before we entered the lounge. Anybody could have simply wandered in.
As you enter you will see a number of cream-colored single seater chairs, 2 rows of 4, facing each other to the left and 4 rows of 4 seats facing each other to the right. Behind that is half a dozen table/chair sets where you can take your food.
The good
Straight ahead as you enter the lounge there is a counter with a decent selection of spirits, certainly enough for most people. Next to that is a couple of glass fronted fridges with the usual selection of soft drinks and a couple of juices. The orange juice I had was heavily sweetened
Beer selection was a choice of Chang, Singha and Leo.
The bad
No review of this lounge would be complete without an honest comment about the food selection. To put it politely, it was below average.
There was a number of hot selections, which I believe rotate from time to time. On my visit the first selection was a fried egg and chicken sausage. Next was veggie fried rice, though I wasn’t a fan. The final choices were sliced ham ( I think?? ) and steamed vegetables.
On top of that there was a selection of precut fruit/vegetables, plain looking sandwiches, along with a few unimaginative cakes and pastries
Coffee on offer was awful, although the selection of teas was much better.
Conclusion
My visit to the Miracle Lounge was relatively quick (40 min) so I did not manage to visit the bathroom to report on those. Free WiFi was available in the lounge.
While there are far better lounges available at Suvanabumi airport , your airline may elect to send you toward the Miracle Lounge, as mine did. The lounge itself is comfortable enough, it could just do with a revamp of the food selection.
